1. Mao and Stalin both came to power by making the public believe that being a communist was a good thing because all of the people would be equal there would be no upper or lower class citizens all property would be public no private property money would be distributed equally. So the poor would be happy because they would get money, but the rich would be mad because they would have their money taken away. But the poor outnumbered the rich so the communists came to rule.
2. Mao and Hitler both came to power by becoming war heroes and were liked by the public so they think it will be good for the country.
3. Some of the signs of a building dictatorship are false promises that they give telling you that they are going to help the country in some way that will make it better for everyone, but it only makes it better for the dictator.

Propaganda is something that tells about the benefits of war, like you would be protecting your family, your country and what you believe is right, you would be a hero. It doesn't show the bad things, like death and destruction.

Art is not propaganda because it shows pain, death, and destruction, propaganda does not show that, it only shows good things and reasons to join the army. The statement above is true because it does show pain, death, destruction, and is sad propaganda is not sad because it is supposed to show the good things the fun, happy things.

The painting shows a man on the floor dead, a baby in its mothers arms dead, and a horse and bull inside the building. All have silent screams of terror frozen on their faces even the animals, except the dead baby. Showing the horror, fear, and confusion that people felt who were in the path of the bombing.

Once there was a war

Once there was a war is a book about the effects on the soldiers during WWII. It is a non-fiction book by John Steinbeck, he was a reporter during World War II and the book tells the story of a soldier’s life during the war while not fighting. First he goes to England on a troop transporter telling about how crammed they were and what they did to pass the time, it tells how soldiers tried to plant gardens at air bases in England, and how the English cooked vegetables until the color was gone and until they were turned to mush. He also goes to North Africa and Italy and gets many more strange and sometimes funny stories. I would say that the theme is that you should never give up even when things are at their worst.

The author shows the theme through most of the characters by showing how the war affected them and how they reacted to the struggles. Like the American soldiers planting gardens in English air fields. They want to feel at home in England and every time they plant something they don’t give up on it. When they moved to a different base the new soldiers that came to the old base would take care of the garden that the others had left behind. And if they came to a base that already had a garden they would take care of that one. This shows even if the gardens change they don’t give up they take care of it and don’t just leave it there.

This theme can relate to everybody because everyone that has lived has not given up on something, because even living is something you can give up on and if you’re alive you haven’t given up yet on life. This theme relates to me because I am writing this and I haven’t given up yet because if I do I will get a bad grade and I don’t want a bad grade so I’m not going to give up. Also, in the book a soldier in Sicily finds a big fancy mirror that is 6ft. 2 in. high and 4ft. wide and wants to take it home with him. So he carries it with him and hides it during shellfire until he makes it to a house in Palermo, he hangs it on a wall to see what it would look like he stands back and it falls off the wall and shatters he is sad but says, “Oh, well, maybe it wouldn’t have looked good in our flat, anyways.”

I believe that the author portrayed the theme through the characters very well, and made it very believable because the book is non-fiction. Gave very good details and made a great book of it. If you give up on something you have just given up on yourself believing that you can’t do something and if you always do that you will never accomplish anything. But if you do finish whatever it is, you will gain confidence in yourself. Also, it will probably have rewards like a good grade in my case or money or something you fill in the blank.

This time period may be best associated (to connect or bring into relation) with economic developments, but it is impossible to analyze (determine) this period without considering the intense social impact that the Triangle Trade had on those involved. In truth, a full understanding can only be gained by appreciating ( to be thankful for) how economic and social factors ( part) impact each other in history.

This image shows that during the french revolution they would decapitate people suspected of treason and going against the idea of liberty, Fraternity, and Equality. It also shows that people liked watching the victims being decapitated. Lastly it shows that the government didn't care if they killed the innocent, because of the soldiers in the foreground.

This image shows that during the French revolution even women fought for Liberty, Fraternity, and Equality. Also, most of them don't have muskets which shows they were most likely poor farmers. They dont have horses or cattle to pull the cannon so they have to pull it themselves.

These images show that the french revolution was about Liberty, Fraternity, and Equality, because the lower classes wanted more rights and more money so they could live better. They would kill anyone that got in their way of gaining these rights. Even the women would fight for the rights.
